首先肯定地告诉你，这样教学肯定不好。什么时候可以不教音标，刚学话的孩子可以不教音标。因为不需要，那时孩子正处在语言发展的最佳时期。不需要给他讲任何语言知识，跟他说就完了。
但是小学阶段就不可以，必须学音标，不但要学音标，该必须学会拼读规则。
以前我只教初高中生，没教过小学生，没有发言权。现在正好教三个小学生班。有了切身体会，所以就敢说了。
小学生学音标好处太多了。首先就是能让他们自己拼读单词。我教给他们的不只是音标，我主要给他们讲自然拼读。一旦他们理解了。他们就能自己拼读单词了。会拼单词，他们的学习兴趣就有了，有了兴趣就不怕学不会。
有个班级三个孩子，都是苏州的。两个四年级，一个三年级。一开始我总担心三年级的孩子会跟不上，拖别人的后腿。但是给他们讲完自然拼读后，发现我的担心是多余的。三年级孩子的一样拼的很好，只是速度稍微慢一点。
学会拼读规则。他们读课文就变得简单了。因为单词都会读。所以领读几遍就会了。以前检查他们的朗读作业时，我都是让四年级的孩子先读。让三年级的孩子后读。这样就能给他点时间，同时也让他听听别人读的。但我发现，别人读的时候偶尔还读错，到他读的时候，他竟全能读对。后来我就让他先读，他也都能读对。这可把我高兴坏了。我不再担心他拖后腿了。三个孩子能齐步走，讲课就特别顺畅。
现在每天上课我都领孩子们读五百个单词，学一篇课文。复习一些课文，最后再让他们自己拼读一百多个单词。
这都是会音标和拼读规则的好处。如果不会拼读规则。五百个单词都读不完，那还有时间学新课？
还有一个班两个孩子。也是一个三年级，一个四年级。同步学习一点问题都没有。她们学的早一点，一个是黑龙江的，一个是苏州的。现在学到新概念第一册八十多课。她们翻译课文，读课文都很轻松。而且每次都是早早就等在电脑前准备上课。上课过程非常顺畅。让她们做的事情从来都是顺利完成。让她们读课文就七里咔嚓地读。让她们翻译课文就一气呵成地翻译完。她们学的快，已经不用我领读单词了，而是让她们自己拼读。每天也是五百词。一开始需要半小时才能读完。昨天读了十九分钟。以后还会更快，她们应该在十一二分钟读完。但现在还做不到，还不够熟练。但我不着急。第一册一共有一千多词。两天循环一遍。如果能在十几分钟读完，就可以节省下来时间做别的练习。毕竟语言需要更多练习。但只有会了自然拼读你才有可能进行大量练习。不然读单词比蜗牛还慢，怎么练呢？
